Why does MTR need funds?
To continue to "change lives," we are dependent on the support and generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations that make up our vibrant community. Annually, about two thirds of MTR's operating budget comes from private donations.

Through annual contributions, MTR:

• Serves more than 300 riders
• Provides scholarships for 1/3 of our riders
  
• Subsidize the cost of Horses for Heroes and Horses for Hope whose clients do not pay for services
• Trains our instructors for PATH certification
  
• Care for our horse and pony therapists
  
• Maintains our facility
  
• Enhances Community Outreach
  

How do we raise funds for MTR?

MTR is very fortunate to benefit from the generosity of individuals, foundations, and corporations in this community. As we expand and enhance our therapeutic riding program, we must continue to rely on charitable contributions. On an annual basis, we must raise approximately two thirds of our operating budget to support this much-needed therapy for special needs children and adults.

Throughout the year, MTR continually cultivates and solicits individuals, foundations and corporations for unrestricted and restricted funds. Each spring, MTR kicks off the fund raising program with an annual fund solicitation. A year-end solicitation acts as both a program update and a request for contributions.

MTR is eligible to receive donations through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and United Way designated donations.

How can you support MTR?

Funds to support general operating needs are always the best. MTR then has the flexibility to direct the funds to where they are needed most.
